Kendra R. Johnson Named One of The Advocate's 2020 Champions of Pride

Kendra Johnson is a queer Black southern lesbian and executive director of Equality NC, where she’s focused on elevating the voices of the marginalized. She spent over a decade in Brazil studying global financial markets and the social constructs of race and gender within colonial systems, lessons that inform her advocacy for ending mass incarceration, immigration, hunger, poverty, and reproductive justice.
