Celebrating the most pro-equality administration in our nation's history.

We made it.

Equality North Carolina joins you and millions of people around the world in celebrating the historic inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Today is nothing short of a breath of fresh air. It's been a long, painful, feverish four years, and so many folks from our communities did not survive the Trump presidency and the legacy of American carnage left in its wake.

But it's time for us to finally turn the page, and welcome in the most pro-equality administration in our nation's history.

Beyond the hope for a brighter tomorrow and our ability to begin to heal from this dark chapter in America, there is so much to celebrate about the Biden-Harris presidency.

President Biden's cabinet is slated to become the most diverse in American history, with people of color making up at least 50% of appointments, a female-majority of leadership and remarkable LGBTQ representation. Not only is Vice President Harris the first woman to hold the office, but also the first Black woman and person of South Asian descent.

We believe that #RepresentationMatters. Seeing our communities actually reflected within the halls of power in this country is nothing short of monumental.

But while representation is important, this is also about something so much bigger: the future of this nation and the ability of Black, Brown, LGBTQ, immigrants, and people from all walks of life to build a life worth living in America. For so many of us, the Biden-Harris presidency represents that promise for the first time in many years, and a path forward through the multiple crises that continue to plague our communities.

Equality North Carolina could not be more thrilled about this new morning in America, and we plan to work in tandem with the pro-equality priorities of this administration in the years ahead. We invite you to partner with us in that work, and join us in the fight for a better, more compassionate world for us all.
