Education Policy: May Newsletter

A Note From Rebby

Because of your hard work and dedication, we collectively beat a number of bills that sought to take away dignity and respect for trans and gender-nonconforming youth. We wouldn't have been able to do it without you. We know this fight continues and we are glad you are by our side through it all. Spring is soon turning into summer and we wish you well as you find time for rest and find ways to stay engaged. Take care of your heart and be well.

In addition to recognizing the vast achievements of AAPI folks, please work with your students and community to understand diverse perspectives and the difficult struggles that AAPI Americans have grappled with throughout the history of the United States.

For the Love of the Game Awards

For The Love of the Game Award nominations have been extended to May 21. The Charlotte Hornets launched this award last season in partnership with Bank of America to recognize LGBTQ and LGBTQ allies in our sports community.

Whether it is a student-athlete, athletic trainer, fitness instructor, coach, or sports organization, we want to recognize individuals that have made a commitment to create a more inclusive sports and fitness environment and provide inspiration to the community, athletes, and the future of sports. Three deserving recipients will be chosen to be honored through the Hornets social channels during Pride Month!
