Here's What To Expect On Election Day

It's finally here. Today is your last chance to vote in the 2020 election and help shape the future of life in this country for decades to come.

Already voted? ENC staff, board members and volunteers are going all day today to help get the word out about pro-equality candidates at the polls, as well as phone banking and text banking. We'd love to have you join in any way you can -- head here for more info.

Voting today? Check out everything you need to know below:

  • Polls are open today across North Carolina from 6:30AM - 7:30PM. If you are in line by 7:30PM, stay in line! You are legally allowed to vote past 7:30PM, as long as you were in line before the cutoff.
  • You do not need an I.D. to vote in North Carolina, unless you are a first-time voter who did not list your address on your voter registration form.
  • If you encounter any obstacles to voting or identify any sort of voter intimidation at the polls, please call the Election Protection Hotline at 888-OUR-VOTE. Trans folks are welcome to call the Trans Voter Protection hotline at 239-946-2718. Voter intimidation is prohibited by law. If for some reason your name is not listed when you arrive to vote, you may request a provisional ballot.
  • Need a ride to the polls? We've partnered with Lyft to offer free rides up to $20! These are valid only until 7:30PM. Head here to request your code.
  • You can download our voter guides here.

No matter how you're plugging in today, it's important for us to remember that we may not know the full election results today. It's imperative that we remain patient and calm while every vote is counted and every voice is heard -- even if that's way easier said than done.

Thank you for all that you do for ENC and the communities we serve. We'll see you out there!
