Nationwide protests in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man who died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for nearly 9 minutes, have stirred the largest call to action against systemic racism in the U.S. since the Civil Rights movement.
As momentum builds across the country to address policy brutality and racial injustice, ithas prompted LGBTQ organizations and activists across the country to consider ways to better amplify voices of Black people within their communities, and also to align Black Lives Matter causes with Pride events in June.
