Equality NC Advocates Network

The Equality NC Advocates Network is a statewide collective of North Carolinians with a shared vision of justice and equity for the present and future of the LGBTQ+ community. We work together in solidarity with LGBTQ+ people, centering those at the margins until the margins become the center.

Together we work to address the needs of our community:

  • Anti-Violence and Hate Crimes
LGBTQ+ people deserve protections from violence and hate crimes, including bringing an end to the trans/gay defense in court.
  • Racial Justice and Equity
We embody an intersectional approach to our activism and are committed to centering those most marginalized by power and privilege in our work.
  • Statewide Comprehensive Non-Discrimination Protections
We continue to fight for statewide non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people in housing, employment, public places and spaces, credit, insurance, education, and jury service.
  • Protect LGBTQ+ Youth
Our youth will not be erased from education nor history. Young people truly are the future and Equality NC believes that we must protect and invest in and protect youth.
  • End Stigma Against People Living with HIV
As we battle the HIV epidemic today, we center harm reduction to deliver resources to communities most impacted by HIV/AIDS.

By joining our network, you commit to developing your awareness on these needs of our community, offer your time, talents and resources to fight for equity, and celebrate the vibrancy of the LGBTQ+ community.

After joining the network, you will gain access to advocacy tools and resources, including ongoing training opportunities and education on our slate of issues and ways you can take action. Thank you for your commitment to our community and for taking the next step in your solidarity.
