State of Equality: August Newsletter

A Message from Kendra

The dog days of summer are on us, and we're less than 90 days to the most important election of our lifetimes. How will you show up in this fight for the soul of our nation?

At Equality NC, we're plugging in to support our 147 Endorsed Candidates across this state. We're also observing Black August, a month-long period of remembrance about the history of anti-Black, violent, systematic oppression in this country and the giants and revolutionaries who laid the foundation for the work of our movements today.

We all have a role to play in the days and weeks ahead. Please, join us in this fight -- we owe it to our communities, our loved ones and ourselves to change the dangerous trajectory of this country and to fight for a more compassionate tomorrow.

Black August

Equality North Carolina invites you to join us in observation of Black August -- a month-long period of remembrance about the history of anti-Black, violent, systematic oppression in this country and the giants and revolutionaries who laid the foundation for the work of our movements today. Stay tuned to your inboxes and our social media channels as we unpack the legacy of Black August over the coming weeks.

To commemorate this historic month, all new and renewing ENC Crew members (with a donation of $25 or more), will receive our limited edition Black August T-shirt! Head here to learn more.

Thank you, Rural Youth Empowerment Fellows!

Our 2019-2020 class of Rural Youth Empowerment (RYE) fellows have been through a lot this year and adapted to an all-virtual landscape like all-stars! We couldn't be prouder. Equality NC would like to thank these incredible young people for their dedication to vulnerable communities all across this state and their work with ENC. Head here to learn more about their projects and keep your eyes peeled for the application period for the next cohort of RYE Fellows!

Join our endorsed candidates at their events across the state!
