Equality NC Launches #GetEngagedNCYouth

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In collaboration with Time OUT Youth and iNSIDEoUT, Equality NC is proud to launch its #GetEngagedNCYouth campaign for North Carolina young people 20 years old and under.
#GetEngagedNCYouth is a unique advocacy opportunity developed to empower youth to harness the power of their own stories and lived experiences for change. This program will help further develop the tools students and youth already possess and help them channel their passion into effective conversations with leaders of their school boards, local governments, and even elected representatives at the state level.
The program kicks off with a special event, #GetEngagedNCYouth: Strong & Strategic Stories, on Tuesday, April 29, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., from the Time Out Youth headquarters (2320-A North Davidson Street, Charlotte, NC 28205.)
#GetEngagedNCYouth culminates on June 10, 2014, when students from all across the state will be traveling to Raleigh to learn more about the legislative process and begin establishing relationships with their elected representatives for Youth Lobby Day.
