Apple announces new campus in North Carolina

Apple unveiled Monday the next location for its major office hub: North Carolina.

The construction of a new campus will bring an estimated $1.5 billion to the state as the software company sets up in the Research Triangle — an area located in the Raleigh-Durham area flanked by prestigious universities like Duke University, North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In addition to the major financial influx, Apple expects 3,000 new jobs in fields like machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI) and software engineering.
