Todd Rosendahl, Director of Youth Policy
Dr. Todd Rosendahl is Equality NC's Director of Youth Policy, a position created in a partnership with Time Out Youth in Charlotte and partially funded by Bank of America. Todd works with K-12 school districts across North Carolina providing professional development for school staff, GSA support for middle and high school students, and policy/regulation guidance to better support LGBTQ students. He also works with other youth-serving organizations by providing resources to support LGBTQ youth throughout the state. Prior to joining Equality NC, Todd trained thousands of K-12 school staff members in the Charlotte region on how to create safer and more welcoming schools for LGBTQ students as the Director of School Outreach at Time Out Youth. He also assisted school districts with LGBTQ-inclusive policy/regulation writing, organized regional GSA network meetings, and led the annual Carolina Conference on Queer Youth.
Todd has presented at regional, national, and international conferences, and holds a Bachelor’s degree and K-12 teaching certification from the University of Iowa and a Master’s degree and Ph.D. from Florida State University. He is a national facilitator of the HRC Foundation's Welcoming Schools program. Todd lives in Lexington with his husband, David.
