In 2008, Campbell joined the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, first as a senior policy advisor and then as Community Affairs manager, where he administered over $220 million in federal and state funds aimed at alleviating poverty.

Campbell and his partner of 15 years, Jeff Engle, relocated from Austin, Texas and are excited about making North Carolina their new home.
