Education and Outreach

Equality NC Foundation works to educate our community and the public about the impact of discrimination on LGBT North Carolinians and their families.

Equality NC Foundation engages in a variety of education and outreach programs, such as town hall forums, trainings, and paid and earned media work.

In 2004, Equality NC Foundation organized a series of eight town hall meetings on marriage and relationship recognition in cities across the state, drawing hundreds of people and generating positive print, radio, and television coverage.

Past events have included workshops on how same-sex couples can legally protect their relationships and children in the absence of marriage equality, trainings on legal issues for transgender North Carolinians, and workshops on effective citizen lobbying.

We also provide speakers and programs for community groups. If your group would like a guest speaker or program on LGBT rights, please contact Ian Palmquist.
