Share Your Story and Change the Future for NC Students!
2/3/2008 - The North Carolina legislature is back in session and the discussion on the House and Senate floors will soon turn to the School Violence Prevention Act. We want to make sure that 2009 is the year that this important bill passes and ALL students in our state are protected from bullying and harassment at school! We know from having fought for this legislation before that personal stories from individuals across North Carolina are the key to convincing middle-of-the road senators and representatives that this is a bill worth fighting for.
The North Carolina legislature is back in session and the discussion on the House and Senate floors will soon turn to the School Violence Prevention Act.
To this end, we're asking supporters of the School Violence Prevention Act to share your stories about school bullying and how it has affected you, your children, your students, your niece or nephew, your friends--anyone you know who could benefit from safer schools!
There are a couple of ways that you can get your message out:
Record a short (5 minute or less) video of yourself (with a webcam, video camera, etc.) and upload it to YouTube. Then e-mail us (enc@equalitync.org) the link and we will use it to show legislators, supporters, and would-be supporters how much the School Violence Prevention Act is needed.
OR
Type your story and e-mail it to us at enc@equalitync.org. Attach a photo of yourself to make it more personal!
Thank you in advance for sharing your story to make safe schools a reality for all students!
