Calling All Sponsors!

7/28/2010 - Equality NC Foundation cordially invites individuals and organizations to sponsor the 2010 Equality Conference & Gala, Equality NC Foundation's signature annual event for LGBT North Carolinians and their allies.

This year's event will take place in Greensboro on Saturday, November 13. The daylong conference will be held at the UNCG Elliott University Center and the evening gala will be held downtown at the Empire Room.

Last year’s Equality Conference & Gala attracted 400 attendees, up from 350 the year before, and we expect 450 this year. We plan to open registration by the end of August, and the conference and gala schedules and programs should be complete by the end of September.

The Equality Conference is designed to foster activism and leadership within the LGBT rights movement in North Carolina, and we keep admission fees as low as possible to encourage maximum attendance from every part of the LGBT community. Attendees start the day with our annual State of Equality Report, attend their choice of hands-on workshops covering a variety of topics, come together for a caucusing lunch, learn more about our sponsors through their exhibits, and wind up the day with our keynote speaker. Last year's keynote was Brian Bond, President Obama's liaison to the LGBT community.

The Equality Gala is Equality NC Foundation's annual fundraiser and our opportunity to celebrate the work we do together with our supporters across the state. We also present our annual leadership award to our legislative champion of the year. Last year we celebrated passage of the landmark School Violence Prevention Act and honored State Senator Julia Boseman for her courageous stand against school bullying.
