Hate Groups on Parade

9/10/2011 - Brian Brown of the National Organization for Marriage will be one of the speakers at this Monday's hate rally in support of the anti-LGBT amendment, along with leaders of known hate groups.

Brian Brown is notorious for regularly comparing gay marriage to polygamous marriage, most recently on MSNBC Live (click here for video).

And Tony Perkins of the hate group the Family Research Council, which has regularly compared LGBT people to pedophiles and Nazis (yes, Nazis), had this self-contradictory thing to say about the amendment to North Carolina's own Christian Action League, one of only ten state affiliates of the hate group the American Family Association:

"'Marriage is the fundamental building block of our society. Children grow up with the greatest emotional stability in households with a loving and committed mother and father,' Perkins said. 'Married couples rely less on government programs, and contribute to society rather than depending on the welfare state.'"

The legislative arm of the Family Research Council is also paying for radio ads across North Carolina in support of the anti-LGBT amendment.

Representative Paul Stam was recently interviewed by Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council and Tim Wildmon of the American Family Association on American Family Radio. Click here for an analysis of that appearance along with video.

To review, at least two known hate groups--the American Family Association and Family Research Council--will send representatives to this Monday's hate rally in support of the anti-LGBT amendment.

Stay tuned to find out if any other hate groups will step forward to spew their hate for LGBT North Carolinians and their loved ones.
