Equality NC's Palmquist Elected Board Chair of Equality Federation
11/5/2009 - Equality NC Executive Director Ian Palmquist yesterday was elected Board Chair of Equality Federation, the national association of state LGBT advocacy groups. He represents Equality NC in the Federation, has been a member of their board since 2003, and previously served as chair for three years ending in 2007.
"I'm honored to once again serve as chair of this amazing organization," said Palmquist. "Equality Federation's mission of building strong and sustainable state-based advocacy organizations in every state is critical to the success of our movement. Their support has been invaluable in helping Equality NC grow and win policy victories that improve the lives of people in our state."
Palmquist was chosen to fill the unexpired term of Equality Ohio's Lynne Bowman, who recently stepped down to take a staff position in the organization.
