Putting "Us" In The Census - Be Counted!

3/17/2010 - LGBT participation in this year's census is essential. In the last census, North Carolina was reported as one of the fastest-growing states, yet it also had a sub-average response, meaning the growth was underreported. Census data is critical to many aspects of government and social services, and it directly affects what services are offered - and to whom.

UNC System Protects LGBT Students

3/4/2010 - The University of North Carolina Board of Governors recently gave final approval to a revised student code of conduct that prohibits harassment based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Equality NC and others advocated for this inclusive policy because threats of violence and harrassment should never be ignored or dismissed. We applaud the UNC Board of Governors for recognizing and emphasizing that a safe and civil learning environment is necessary at all UNC system campuses.

Free Concert In Salisbury To Benefit Equality NC

2/24/2010 - The Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte and Salisbury/Rowan PFLAG are presenting “A Family Affair” a 13-movement, 45-minute song cycle entitled, “This House Shall Stand: Songs of My Family.” The event is free, but donations will be accepted and proceeds will benefit Equality NC.
