State of Equality: WE'RE #OUTTOVOTE

A Message From Kendra

With just over 50 days between us and the most important election of our lifetimes, we're kicking into high gear at ENC. Today, I'm proud to share that we're launching a "30 Days of Action" campaign called #OutToVote that will provide unique and innovative ways for you to plug into our work supporting our 147 pro-equality candidates across the state.

From Town Halls to phone banking to recording videos about the importance of voting, we'll uplift a call to action for the ENC community every day and invite you to add your voice to the chorus. #OutToVote will lead into a special weekend of activities over National Coming Out Day -- the weekend before Early Voting begins on Oct. 15.

Tonight, we're hosting a virtual volunteer training to kick things off -- will you join us to learn about how you can help shape the future of this state?

Whether we're in the streets or in our homes, Equality North Carolina is #OutToVote and we hope you'll join us -- we can't win this fight without you.

Rural Youth Empowerment (RYE) Fellowship -- APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!

The Rural Youth Empowerment (RYE) Fellowship is a year-long mentorship and training program for LGBTQ young people in rural areas of North Carolina. Over the course of a year, a cohort of ten RYE Fellows will attend day-long leadership institutes in three different locations throughout the state, attend major Equality NC community events, participate in monthly video conferences, work one-on-one with community mentors, and receive fellowship stipends to help offset costs associated with their project. Do you know a young person who would be a good fit? Encourage them to apply!

Deadline: Oct. 2

Safe Voter NC

Equality North Carolina, the North Carolina Black Alliance, and Disability Rights North Carolina have launched a voter safety protection campaign called Safe Voter NC to provide Personal Protective Equipment for 250,000 North Carolinians from marginalized communities as they head to the polls. Eligible voters that complete the PPE Kit request form on SafeVoterNC.org will receive a free single-use PPE kit by mail while supplies last. Voters are encouraged to request their free kits early. You can also 888-WEVOTE-2.

Looking for an opportunity to support our vulnerable communities at the polls? Donate $25 and ENC will send three PPE kits to people in need. Happy voting!

Census 2020

Have you filled out the census? With the Trump administration trying to shorten the deadline, you only have a few more weeks to ensure that you and your loved ones are counted! The census may not seem like a big deal, but over $440 Billion is distributed EVERY YEAR using census data. Our communities are in desperate need of this funding, especially with a new congressional district on the map. Please, make sure your voice is heard and help us #GetOutTheCount!

Black Resilience

Thank you for supporting Black August! It was so well received we are keeping the momentum going. Join the ENC Crew today and receive a new Black Resilience T-shirt! A portion of the proceeds will go toward the NC Community Bail Out Fund and the QTIPOC Survival Fund.

New Belgium Brewing
