State of Equality: June Newsletter

A Message from Kendra

From all of us at Equality North Carolina, Happy Pride Month! After what seems like an eternity, many members of our community are finally able to gather once again and share space, celebrate our resilience and reflect on the challenges we've all been through together.

As the world reopens, we still have a lot of work to do. There are a number of bad bills still moving through the NCGA, and less than 10% of North Carolinians currently live in cities, towns, or counties with LGBTQ-inclusive nondiscrimination protections.

The world may look different but the fight, in many ways, is still the same. We hope you'll join us.

For Pride month, Equality NC & Campaign for Southern Equality have launched a limited run of #NCIsReady swag for you to support our work and add your voice to the fight for nondiscrimination protections!

This line of #NCIsReady swag is available only for the month of June and your contribution will go directly towards building a safer and more equitable North Carolina for our communities.

Our staff is holding a listening session to hear what parents or caretakers of trans kids would find helpful to learn as we keep up this fight. What are the things that parents of trans youth really need to know and how can we help?
