Equality North Carolina Welcomes Milan Pham as Board Chair

We are thrilled to announce Milan Pham as the new chair of our c4 board. Milan is an attorney and partner at Nicholson Pham, Attorneys at Law, PLLC. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the UNC Chapel Hill School of Law. In her practice, she focuses on issues of family creation and protection in the context of queer and emerging families. Milan describes herself as "a queer, lesbian, feminist, immigrant, daughter, sister, auntie extraordinaire and friend among other things."

Milan joins us with a wealth of experience, including her current appointment as a fellow with the American Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys. Additionally, she serves on the National Center for Lesbian Rights National Family Law Advisory Committee (NFLAC), which develops national strategy and shares resources for the protection of LGBT+ and historically unrecognized or marginally protected families.

Milan joins Ivan Canada, the chair of our c3 board. Ivan currently serves as the executive director of North Carolina for Community and Justice (NCCJ), a human relations organization that promotes understanding and respect among all cultures, races, and religions through education, dialogue, and advocacy. As a native North Carolinian, he is committed to making his home state a more welcoming and inclusive place for all people.

Ivan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been recognized by the Triad Business Journal as a "Forty Leader Under 40" and as a "Leader in Diversity" and has received the "Change Agent Award" from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the board of directors for the NC Center for Nonprofits, and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.
