Bill Summary
Equality NC endorses this bill.
This bill appropriates $6.5 Million per year for AIDS Drug Assistance Program in an effort to ensure that low-income North Carolinians living with AIDS have access to life-saving drugs. Additionally, the bill raises the eligibility level for the program from 125% of Federal Poverty Level to 200% of FPL. North Carolina's current eligibility level is the worst in the nation, forcing many poor North Carolinians to do without expensive AIDS drugs.
This bill is substantively identical to Senate Bill 772 and is similar to Senate Bill 641.
