On Tuesday, September 13, at noon, Equality NC will join a coalition of pro-equality organizations, as well as supporters of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) rights from across the state, to convene outside of the state capitol for a rally urging legislators to oppose North Carolina’s proposed anti-LGBT constitutional amendment.
Bigotry is Bad for Business Press Conference (Legislature Press Room, from Sep 13, 2011 11:30 AM to Sep 13, 2011 12:00 PM)
Prior to the rally on September 13, at 11:30 a.m., a coalition of business owners and business leaders, along with legislative allies, will also hold a press conference to speak publicly about the potential economic harms of the proposed anti-gay amendment (HB777/SB106) and the business interests throughout the state that oppose it. Simultaneous statewide vigils are scheduled for the evening of September 12 in Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville, Greensboro, Durham, Fayetteville, Greenville, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem.
Triangle Rainbow Bowling League Holds Fundraiser for Equality NC! (AMF Pleasant Valley, from Sep 07, 2011 07:30 PM to Sep 07, 2011 09:00 PM)
The Triangle Rainbow Bowling League is holding a fundraiser for Equality NC on their league kickoff night Wednesday September 7th at 7:30. They will be holding a 50/50 raffle with half of the proceeds going to Equality NC. We could use some help collecting 'postcards for marriage equality' at the event. If you'd like to help, or are curious about Triangle Rainbow Bowling, come down to the AMF lanes at Pleasant Valley in Raleigh (5500 Commercial Ave) on Wednesday and give us a hand.
