Transgender Day of Remembrance (Charlotte)

The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Charlotte hosts a Transgender Day of Remembrance memorial service on Saturday, November 17.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. The event is held in November to honor Rita Hester who was murdered on November 28th, 1998. Since 1999, memorials and vigils have been held across the world in November. The Center will be hosting a Transgender Day of Remembrance memorial service on Saturday, November 17. Doors will open at 6PM with special speakers, a candle light vigil and community fellowship.
