Join Equality NC and Flyleaf Books for a conversation between Sarah McBride and journalist Steven Petrow about Sarah's new memoir "Tomorrow Will Be Different: Love, Loss, and the Fight for Trans Equality". March 31st is the national Transgender Day of Visibility, a day dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide.

The event will include a conversation with author Sarah McBride and journalist Steven Petrow, followed by audience questions, and a book signing.

About Tomorrow Will Be Different:
A timely and compelling memoir about gender identity set against the backdrop of the transgender equality movement, written by the national press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign.

Tomorrow Will Be Different recounts McBride’s lifelong struggle with gender identity. After coming out publicly as transgender in a viral post while serving as her college’s student body president, she realized just how much impact her experiences could have on the country. Five years later, McBride is one of the nation’s most prominent transgender activists, walking the halls of the White House, passing laws, and addressing the country in the midst of a heated presidential election. And, she’d found her first love and future husband Andy, a trans man and fellow activist, who complimented her in every way…until cancer tragically intervened.

In the same vein as the national bestseller She’s Not There by Jennifer Finney Boylan, Sarah’s story of identity, love, and loss serves as a powerful entry point for readers who want to gain a deeper understanding of gender identity and what it means to be openly transgender. From issues like bathroom access to healthcare to gender equality, McBride weaves the important political and cultural milestones into a personal journey that will open hearts and change minds.

Informative, heartbreaking, and empowering, Tomorrow Will Be Different is a love story and a call-to-arms that shines a light on personal stories within the trans community, and demonstrates why the fight for equality and freedom has only just begun.
