Rebecca Mann, Director of Community Organizing and Outreach

Rebecca Mann joined Equality NC in June 2008 as the organization’s first full-time Community Organizer.

She is a lifelong North Carolinian and holds a BA in English, with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies, from North Carolina State University and a MA in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. 

Rebecca has worked as an advocate and organizer with the YWCA of High Point and Planned Parenthood Health Systems, and in the communications departments of IntraHealth International and Ipas. She has also been involved on a volunteer basis with the Guilford Coalition on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, the North Carolina board of the National Organization for Women, and her local NOW chapter.

In her spare time, Rebecca loves spending time with her husband, Cory, and three cats, Isabel, Lorna and Edgar. She is a fan of 1950s design, the North Carolina Aquariums, The Golden Girls, independent doughnut shops, and red shoes.
