Kay Flaminio, Director of Development
Kay Flaminio joined the staff in November 2006 and manages the group's fundraising program.
Kay has joined Equality North Carolina as its first development
director to do her part for our great movement. She has been a fundraiser for twenty-six years and has worked
with a number of nonprofits on a spectrum of issues including
reproductive rights, STD prevention, mental health, and animal rights.
Her specialty is individual giving with a focus on leadership gifts,
and she has extensive experience in corporate and foundation relations;
special events; publications; public relations; financial management;
and strategic planning.
Kay is from upstate New York and moved to North Carolina in 1990. She lives in a restored 1928 bungalow in Durham and is an avowed Durhamite. She reads compulsively--mostly histories of the South--collects antiques, travels, and rescues cats.
